When the two elements of a pair have a line or point contact when relative motion takes place and the motion between the two elements is partly turning and partly sliding, then the pair is known as higher pair. A pair of friction discs, toothed gearing, belt and rope drives, ball and roller bearings and cam and follower are the examples of higher pairs.

C and D are correct answers because rolling pair is a higher pair. For meshing gear partially sliding and turning.

Go through the theory of machine if you have studied. Answer as given is correct. And it is obvious that a higher pair to have partial turning and partial sliding action.

Answer C is correct because higher pairs have point contact for example gears and lower pair have surface contact option d not satisfying the above case.

Answer is C, because for higher pair there is always line contact or point contact.

The answer should be definitely C. No doubt only the rolling motion is having higher pairs.

May answer is C. Because in higher pair in point contact when surface contact in lower pair.
