As In-plane shear is not mentioned Answer should be C.

Maximum shear stress = 1/2(max. Principal stress- Min. Principal stress).
So, the right answer is D.
So, the right answer is D.

C is the correct answer.
The Maximum value of shear stress = 1/2 (hoop stress).
The Maximum value of shear stress = 1/2 (hoop stress).

How it should be B?
i.e. Hoop's stress = pd/2t.
i.e. Hoop's stress = pd/2t.

C is the right answer. If it was asked that maximum shear stress in the plan then pd/8t is the maximum shear stress in the plane. Otherwise, pd/4t is absolute maximum shear stress.
