There is no relation between elastic limit and strain energy. Strain energy is stored in the body due to its resistive action. It can be beyond the elastic limit.

Thanks.

Strain energy is the ability of a material to regain its shape, as per the stress-starin diagram only up to elastic limit material is elastic.

So, answer A is right.

Strain energy is the energy responsible for the returning of a sretched elastic material into its origina position, provided that its elartic limit is not exceeded.

Strain energy stored up to elastic limit is called proof resilience.

And area under stress-strain diagram after yield point is called strain hardening.

With in the elastic limit of the substance the strain energy should sustain if it will cross the limit then the energy should not be a strain energy.

Strain energy is the ability of material to absorb energy when it is strained. And energy absorbed in an elastic region is called resilience.

Energy stored in the body when strained is termed as a strain energy. Whereas, the strain energy within elastic limit is called resilience.

Strain means when a load apply to the body some elongation will appear that means change in length by original length is called strain.

The area under the stress diagram represent the toughness but with in the elastic limit it is denotes the value of strain energy.

Strain energy is the minimum energy required to produce deformation in body. Strain energy is measured within the elastic limits.
