Why not neutral equilibrium? it applies on rolling cylinders as well, as long as center of gravity remains unchanged. Please reply, I'm confused on this one.

Surface is smooth so no friction, due to no friction no force apply on the cylinder to stop rolling, it's continuous rolling inside the convex surface.

Convex means it lies on horizontal position without friction force since it is given as smooth surface. So here cg lies above meta center so unstable.

It has to be neutral because even when it is disturbed - it's centre of gravity remains at the same position. Similar to a cone resting on it's side.

If smooth cylinder lying on a horizontal surface then it is said to neutral equilibrium.
In covex surface neutral equilibrium is not possible.
In covex surface neutral equilibrium is not possible.

Firstly, that is smooth surface hence it doesn't have any friction.
Then it's still unstable because of the absence of friction in that case.
Then it's still unstable because of the absence of friction in that case.

Because of smooth cylinder it lie on the convex surface but it not stable certain position cylinder is fall down because of convex surface.

Convex lens has no friction, and also smooth cylinder has friction too. Then the body will moving downward. Then that is unstable.

Unstable because of its rolling movement, not stable because of convex surfaces, not neutral because cylindrical shape.

At the convex surface though it is a smooth body tends to slides. Hence, unstable.
