In this same principal is used as that in lifting a bucket of water from any well. More the angle between ropes, lesser will be the force required to lift it. Hence less force means less acceleration of system.

I guess, balancing will be done as per the masses, since they are unknown, then one can not easily determine the result.
Considering them to be equal, then the value so obtained shall be dependent on angle.
