Logical Reasoning - Number Series - Discussion
Discussion Forum : Number Series - Type 1 (Q.No. 2)
Directions to Solve
In each series, look for the degree and direction of change between the numbers. In other words, do the numbers increase or decrease, and by how much
2.
Look at this series: 7, 10, 8, 11, 9, 12, ... What number should come next?
Answer: Option
Explanation:

7, 10, 8, 11, 9, 12, ?
The answer is 10 why because.
Just those are compare to above series in that 7, 8, 9 and 10, 11, 12 sequence no's are display so after 7 comes 8 and after 8 comes 9 and after 9 comes 10 so answer is "10".

Suggest me if the logic is wrong.
Add sequence of 3,4,5... in the odd position to the 7 and add sequence of 1,2,3.... in the even position to the 7 then we get our required result.
7+3 = 10.
7+1 = 8.
7+4 = 11.
7+2 = 9.
7+5 = 12.
7+3 = 10.

This is a simple alternating addition & subtraction series.
7+3=10. 8+3=11.
10-2=8. 11-2=9.
9+3=12. 12-2=10.
7+3=10. 8+3=11.
10-2=8. 11-2=9.
9+3=12. 12-2=10.

Answer is : 10.
Solution is: 7+3 = 10, 10-2 = 8, 8+3 = 11, 11-2 = 9, 9+3 = 12, 12-2 = 10 is correct or not.
Solution is: 7+3 = 10, 10-2 = 8, 8+3 = 11, 11-2 = 9, 9+3 = 12, 12-2 = 10 is correct or not.

Add all the numbers and then divide it with 6. Because there are total 6 nos given, as the answer will come.
E.g: 7+10+8+11+9+12=57.
57/6 = 9.5.
Round figure is 10.
E.g: 7+10+8+11+9+12=57.
57/6 = 9.5.
Round figure is 10.

Here a simple concept is taken under use that is take first no 7.
Follow logic that once you add 3 in that no so:
7+3 = 10.
That whatever no you get now subtract by 2.
10-2 = 8. (continues process).
So again add 3 whatever got subtract by 2 and continues series.

7 add 3 equal 10.
10 subtract 2 equal 8.
8 add 3 equal 11.
11 subtract 2 equal 9.
9 add 3 equal 12.
12 subtract 2 equal 10.
So that answer is 10 right.
10 subtract 2 equal 8.
8 add 3 equal 11.
11 subtract 2 equal 9.
9 add 3 equal 12.
12 subtract 2 equal 10.
So that answer is 10 right.
