The aadhar database is not secured enough since a security researcher brought to the notice that the demographic data of over five lakhs people were leaked on a website. The website were immediately closed but this shows that the data is not secured.

UIDAI itself lodgeg complain against axis bank to use biometric which is violation of aadhar act. Also the peoples whose biometric was used were not informed. All these shows that UIDAI has to work hard to secure aadhar database.

According to my points of view, Adhar database not 100% but mostly secured because UIDAI is continuously updating its security parameters looking new threats in cyberspace.

As we know that in Aadhar database Name, address, fingerprint and the facial photograph is kept recorded only besides other information about the family, bank account details, financial, property details will never have recorded in the database,

As we give Aadhar number to the bank, a mobile company, they only send Aadhar number and biometrics to UIDAI for verification for identity only thought they do not send bank account details, so we can say that Aadhar is more secure and trust than another identity in India.

Thanks.

Like every database, Aadhar is also enough secured, but unlike others, many persons try to breach the security of ADB. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIAOI) is also ensuring about the security and third party access of data inculcate in ADB. Some persons who wants to oppose just to put their view in public and with improper information are opposing for this. I think all the services of public domain should be attached with this so life would be more globally accessible as well as more comfortable.

I don't think that the Aadhaar database is secured because all the data are maintained in electronic form and so any person can steal data if there will be any problem in security. And there was also a case of paytm where all the data of the customer is stolen by women and she said that she'll leak the data so there is always a chance of leaking of data.

Hello everyone.

Here we are discussing that is Aadhaar card secured enough?

Actually, Aadhaar database has information on our residence, our mobile no. Our D.O.B. (mainly Aadhaar card is used for this) and our biometric sign. Sometimes we give Aadhaar card no. To do our work and with it we give our biometric sign also. But some fraud people disuse that our information.

For example, I remember one incident of my life, my friend went to renew his sim and he was requested to give his Aadhaar no. With his biometric sign but that time that man kept his biometric sign separately and that man used that biometric sign of his paytm kyc. When my friend thinks to his paytm kyc it shows " you have already use this Aadhaar no. With other paytm account. And now there is no way to find who is using his Aadhaar card.

Thank you.

I think the Aadhar database is secure until one gives his own detail to the public. For example if I give my phone number here then am exposing my detail to all of them until that no one knows our phone number same like government database is safe but its depend on the other vendor like networks and other sectors who do not protect them recently TRAI lead has posted his Aadhar card number online in a challenging manner to hacker to hack his details and that lead to his data leak. That's what I have pointed out in beginning information is been passed out only from actual owner knowingly or unknowingly. After that court has reclaimed the order to mandatory for Aadhar to banks that's a good move by them.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued to Indian citizens by the Central government. It is issued and managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Aadhaar card is essentially an identification document issued by the UIDAI after it records and verifies every resident Indian citizen's details including biometric and demographic data.

Aadhaar is not meant to replace existing identification documents like PAN, passport, driving license etc. However, it can be used as a single identification document.

Banks, financial institutions and telecom companies can also use it as a Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification mode and maintain profiles.

Opening Bank Accounts.

Aadhar Cards can come in handy when opening a bank account. The document can be used for KYC, identification and verification purposes. Financial institutions and banks consider Aadhaar Cards as a valid address and photo ID proofs during the time of opening a bank account.

Disbursing Provident Fund.

Individuals who link their Aadhar Card to their Pension Accounts can have their provident fund disbursed directly to their accounts through their PF organisation.

LPG Subsidy.

By linking the Aadhaar number to the 17 digit LPG ID, users will be able to avail the LPG subsidy directly in their respective bank accounts.

The step was taken by the government to provide every citizen a unique identification number which we call it as an Adhaar card. But the biggest question arises that is it really secured enough? So according to me, the Aadhaar details are not fully secured because day by day cyber crimes are increasing with the increase in the technology and there are many hacking agencies which can access these codes. But it is very common because if you are sharing your numbers also, the leakage of information also involve in it same as here as well there will be some cons and our government is also working in it so that it will be secured in coming time.

Aadhar database is just like any other database like our email database, Facebook database and even bank account database. There are instances of hacking of every type of databases like email, Facebook accounts and even bank accounts.

The fact is that hackers are always finding new ways to hack into the most secure databases of the world. So, just as hackers are growing smarter so too cybersecurity expert must continuously work on improving the security of our databases.

Therefore Aadhar databases must continuously adapt newer security measures to ward off the growing army of hackers who are getting smarter day by day.

Also, in addition to that, I would like to add the scenario where one links his mobile number to Aadhar card. We buy a new sim etc and give our consent to Telecom companies via our fingerprints and otp to share our Aadhar details with the company. Now it is also up to the Telecom companies to provide for security measures so that hackers don't have access to our Aadhar card from the Telecom companies database.

Most of the hacking news about Aadhar card, on further investigation revealed that there was lack of security measures on the Telecom companies database.
