Is the Aadhaar database secured enough?

I don't think that Aadhaar database is secured because if you see recently that there are number of cases in data of Aadhaar card is leaked. If your Aadhar card is steal then person can easily access the personal information or detail.

Hello friends, Aadhar card is one of the identities of our selves like election card, pan card. Nowadays most of the companies asking for an Aadhar card for a verification. Everyone might have done the paytm KYC process while doing verification also they ask for Aadhar card. Somehow it is useful but somehow it is not. Because the 12 digit number on the Aadhar card may be misused.

The main aim of the Aadhar is to collect our personal details including fingerprint, etc.

We are linking Aadhar with various schemes. Which government forces the people to involve in the Aadhar scheme.

According to my point of view, Aadhar card database is secure because when someone wants to make multiple Aadhar cards then automatically it will reject the Aadhar card that means government giving full security to the Aadhar database.

And most important thing is that it has biometric security so can easily hack our personal information through Aadhar card easily. It may be possible but not that much easy.

To talk about this I have checked and found the below information:.

Government states that-.

1. The UIDAI has established two large-scale data centres to ensure complete security of data and applications, and it regularly conducts audits by reputed third-party agencies to keep its systems and processes up to date.

2. Aadhaar platform is built mostly on open source technologies, with propriety technologies being used only where necessary. In general terms, we can say that no private contractors may sell/steal the data.

3. Encryption uses the highest available public key cryptography encryption (PKI-2048 and AES-256).

4. While adopting any propriety software for biometrics, the design approach followed by the UIDAI is to have multiple vendors in an architectural layer, with a payment model put in place such that the vendors are had been given incentives to improve quality, accuracy and speed. These vendors or their services can be replaced if they do not meet stringent service level agreements. More than 100 different companies are involved in groundwork, so that monopoly doesn\'t become an issue.

Having said that, there were a lot of scams happened earlier and many advanced software has many made to steal data. The recent news is "Traders buy bio-metric data for Rs. 15000", but they have been caught as our police was investigating that how they get such software.

With the above information, I feel that the everything is spoof-able. I've read in one of the articles which state that even an iPhone has also promised complete security but it takes just 24 hours by the hackers Mark Rogers and Jan Krissler to unlock it. I'm personally not convinced with the thought that Aadhar database is 100% secured enough.

However, I want to advise some of the prevention:

1. Please don't share your Adhar number with other people.

2. Never share you Adhar copy and if you are using so just self-attest it and mention the reason for which.

That Aadhar copy has been used.

I also want to provide a very useful information here that UIDAI has provided a feature to lock/unlock. You can lock your Aadhaar card after that no one can be able to read that data through anyway, and it's vice versa even you can you can also unlock it whenever it's required.

There has been a number of cases where people's data privacy has been breached through Aadhar database. This clearly shows that it is not secured enough. The database is created and stored with the help of biometrics like iris, fingerprints but still it can be accessed by hackers.

Recently, a news article shared on the internet showed how a French cybersecurity specialist hacked the Aadhar database in a minute. Do you still have doubts over how secure the database is?

Aadhar cards are made even without the presence of a person whom it belongs to, so just imagine how securely it will all work.

A hacker will churn out all the details from the Aadhar database and that person (just a random 12 digit number in the database) will get destroyed.

According to my view, linking adhar with your mobile no. Bank account or any private stuff through which your personal identity and details can be misused and it is not safe because if any one gets your adhar card, thy can easily hack and can get through the personal details.

Aadhar database is secured enough that one can use it free mindly by just keeping few points in mind.

Aadhar has many step verification procedure that reduces the chances of data theft.

Also, the government is working on facial recognition character which solidifies the security further.

So for a secured platform their always need of being it's updation so that it lessens the risk of data theft.

Also, it has interlinked with many other details and mobile no. So that any case can be tracked.

In my opinion, Aadhar is necessary as it uidai have all the detail of the person and for crime purpose or any offense or anything, it is very easy to identify this person. But the aadhar detail is not that much secure as there is a day to day fraud cases of varies aadhar linked thing. Mainly by any chance if someone gets your mobile and your aadhar card, he/she can access the details very easy using OTP in the registered mobile number. Thus aadhar detail is not that much safe government need to keep this data away from the fraud people.
