Enigma codes are used by German's during World war to transfer their messages to their soldier so that they can attack their enemies without knowing them. To crack this codes British Government Hired Prof.
Turing with some other folks who cracked this code and invented machine which can understand only machine language. Since then Turing machine was invented and now a days this are known as compilers of software.

Turing machine is a basic computing model. Which tell how a computer actually do the mathematical calculation using some algorithms.
