Actually Star is situated in space in fixed position and when earth is rotated from west to east about it own axis of rotation we observed that star is moving from east to west.

If we are in train when it is moving with some speed. Then the nature moving opposite to you. Similarly earth rotates west to east then we assumes opposite to it.

Earth rotates from west to east and with respect to the earth we assume the stars move opposite of the earth (east to west).

Actually when earth rotates east to west we also rotate east to west and we saw stars moving from east to west.

The stars move in the opposite direction of earth. So the stars are moved west to east.
