When Porus was defeated by Alexander, he was brought to Alexander and then Alexander asked Porus what behaviour Porus wants from Alexander. Porus then replied he wants Alexander should treat Porus like a king. Alexander was so impressed that he returned back Porus his kingdom.

The battle of Haydaspes was fought between Alexender the great and Porus in 326 B.C. along the banks of Haydaspes river( Jhelum river) in Punjab. Porus was defeated. However, Alexendar was impressed by Porus's might so asked Porus to rule his dynasty under his name.

Very fought Alexander the great in the battle of the Hydaspes river in 326 bc (so, there is a possibility of king Porus to be a descendant of the pururava tribe). Because alexander defeated Porus king you know he lives Jhelum that happened near river Jhelum.

King Porus defeated Alexander. If Alexander was the winner then why he didn't move further to face Magadh empire why he returned in between?

The only Indian ruler, who offered compatible resistance to the foreign might of Alexander of Macedonia was the great Indian Porus; though he was defeated in the fierce battle, but remained for ever as a hero in the history.
