Jayakwadi- This project started due to some problem its stopped after some ministers are involved like LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI and he spoke to japan and explain the situation important purpose was to provide water for drinking then this project again started with the help of japan and finished here they are generating more than >12MW.
The Jayakwadi project is one of the largest irrigation projects in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a multipurpose project. A plan to build a dam on Godavari river in the drought-prone Marathwada region was first conceived. Storage capacity of 2,147 MCM.
This foundation was started by LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI. Mainly purpose was to irrigate land for agriculture in the drought prone of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state. Other important purpose was to provide water for drinking and industrial usage to nearby towns and villages and to the municipalities and industrial areas of Aurangabad and Jalna.

Godavari is the second longest river of India after Ganga, originates from Bramhagiri mountains at Triambakeshwar in Nashik, Maharashtra and flows east for 1465 km (910 miles approx) to drain itself into Bay of Bengal.
This project is to build an earthen dam on Godavari having height of 41.30 mts and length of 9.998 kms. The power generation capacity will be of 12 MW. Every dam creates a reservoir behind itself and the name of the reservoir of this dam is Nath Sagar Jalashay.
