Lubricants are also used to do intercourse, it reduce the friction. And graphite have weak van der wall forces due to which it reduce the friction and it also has some brightness.

In the Graphite covalent bond are loosely bounded and it is formed in a stack like structures due to this it has slippery surface i.e., it is used as lubricants.

Graphite is an allotrope of carbon but only 3 electrons satisfied. Their layers are slippery in nature. Due to this they are used as lubricating.
