It is nitrogen because it can easily absorb heat and can reject easily.

It is argon and I am sure about it because it is written in my book.

But we use neon gas.

Because nitrogen glows and emit light.

If we use other gases what will happen?

Nitrogen is cheaper and less reactive due to half filled p orbital but inert gases are costly used in costly cfl etc option of nitrogen is present also.

Now I am clear fully why we are use in nitrogen gas in bulb.

Bulbs is generally known as an inert gas.
Either be argon or neon.
The gas used could also be xenon.

I think the space in an electric bulb is dominated by Ar gas.
