Intermolecular forces are strong enough and vanderwall forces are between two bromine atoms.

Yes it's bromine. The reason why is mercury is used in the barometer is b because it has a high coefficient of expansion. So a slite rise in pressure or temperature can be known.

Bromine is correct.

Bromine because it remain liquid because of its melting point.

Bromide is liquid because it is not solid or gas.

Bromine is a liquid because the intermolecular forces are strong enough so that it does not vapourise. Br forms diatomic molecules and van der Waals interactions are sufficiently strong.

What is its practical use?

It is Due to the Van der Waals.
