Potato is a modification of root. Sweet potato is the modification of stem. Both of them are analogous to each other.

The correct answer is the stem, because we can nodes and inter nodes in potato which is a characteristic of stem.

It is a stem because characteristic of stem such as bud node are seen in potato. It store a food like sugar cane.

I think it is not a stem tuber because tubers swell from underground but not from the shoot.
