Halophytes are any plants that can tolerate an environment having a high salt content while hydrophytes are plants living in or requires an abundance of water usually except the seaweed.
But mesophytes are normal terrestrial plants that grow in environments having an average supply of water.

A halophyte is a plant that grows in waters of high salinity, coming into contact with saline water through its roots or by salt sprays, such as in saline semi-deserts, mangrove swamps, marshes and sloughs and seashores.
An example of a halophyte is the salt marsh grass Spartina alterniflora (smooth cordgrass).

The Roots of Halophytes have more salt than the salty soil. So, their roots keep absorbing water from the soil.
