Nitrate and ammonium absorbed form of nitrogen in plants then nitrate convert into ammonium in the shoot which is used to synthesize amino acid and then protein not nitrogen.

@Deepak Soni you have to check the nitrogen cycle of plants, in this cycle it is clearly explained how the plants converts nitrates into free nitrogen.

To maintain level of nitrogen in atmosphere, plants do various processes. This process of maintaining level of nitrogen is called nitrogen cycle.

I agree with the statement because nitrogen is very useful for the plant so nitrates may be converted into free nitrogen.

Leguminous plants take nitrogen molecules from air and fix them in soil and convert them in to nitrates.

First of all plant will not absorb nitrates it is absorbed by the nitrifying bacteria.
