Stratosphere is filled with ozone gas which filters the UV rays coming from sun. So the ozone hole is the decrease of thickness of ozone in the stratosphere due to pollution.

Ozone layer filters the UV rays from the sun which causes skin cancer. Because of pollution the ozone layer is depleting. If it completely depletes OZONE we would be in DANGER ZONE.
