In winter our body metabolism rate increases due to which digestion process also increases because body needs more energy to withstand the seasonal variation. As heat losses in the form of ATP to regulate various bodily mechanism. In order to prevent heat loss from the body vasoconstriction takes place. But inspite of this body needs extra energy in the form of carbohydrates, fats etc. Therefore Dietician advised to take good diet in winter to make body fit and fine.

So that fats can get stored under our skin and give insulation.

If we are thin during winter heavy winds will take us away so be fat.

Hibernation - cessation from or slowing of activity during the winter; especially slowing of metabolism in some animals.

Dormancy, quiescence, quiescency - a state of quiet (but possibly temporary) inaction; "the volcano erupted after centuries of dormancy".

I says that fat gives heat to our body so that we can protect our body from cold.

Our body is more capable to digest the lipid food.

Even it produces energy.

In winter our body very heat so we can protect our body from cold so it became fat.

Because in winter our body required fat to fight winter.

For example, cold-blooded animals living in snowy regions are much fat and have fur. Fat pretend us from cold.

In winter season generally, our body use carbohydrate for energy but in winter season body use fat for energy.
