Since in sliding the point of contact rely over a surface it experience greater friction where as in rolling the point of contact is a point or atmost an axis, it experience less friction than sliding.
Eg: sliding a spherical stone over a slant surface is more difficult than rolling the stone over that surface.
However, the surface also plays an important role in friction. i.e If the surface is too smooth (eg:ice) the friction is same in both the cases. Since the surface opposes no reluctance on the bodies.

It is done because of contact area which used in sliding is more then rolling. In rolling motion only point contact have been done.

Lesser the contact area lesser is the friction.

Rolling friction is less than sliding becuse in sliding friction point of contact is not changing of moving body, whereas in rolling point of contact is changing while rolling body is in motion moreover you may find value of coeficient of friction (mu) is less for rolling as compared to sliding

There are 4 types of friction
sliding
rolling
limiting-it is self adjusting friction
kinetic
lesser the surface of contact lesser the friction
the coefficient of friction is lesser in rolling fricting
sliding
rolling
limiting-it is self adjusting friction
kinetic
lesser the surface of contact lesser the friction
the coefficient of friction is lesser in rolling fricting

More the surface of contact more will be friction sliding involves large surface contact than rolling.

Answer is wrong beacause :.
In sliding- surface is contact with surface and more friction than rolling.
In rolling- one point is contacted with surafce at a time so less friction than sliding.
Hence the answer is wrong.

Coefficient of rolling friction is always less than that of sliding friction.

Mass of an object leads to excerting force against the surface while sliding. While rolling an object then the mass gets acceleration and gets momentum with kinetic energy that reduces friction against the surface.
