Please tell me the expedition that carried until now?

Sodar systems are like radar (radio detection and ranging) and lidar (light radar) systems except that sound waves rather than radio or light waves are used for detection. Other names used for sodar systems include sounder, echosounder and acoustic radar.

SODAR systems use sound waves to detect and measure atmospheric conditions, including wind speed, direction, and turbulence. They are often used in meteorology, aviation, and environmental monitoring.

SODAR works by emitting a sound signal which travels through the atmosphere and reflects back from atmospheric layers where the air density changes, such as wind shear layers. By analyzing the characteristics of the reflected signal, the SODAR system can determine the wind speed and direction at various heights above the ground.

Dakshin Gangotri was India's first research station in Antarctica, established in 1983. However, due to structural issues caused by snow accumulation, it was abandoned in 1990 and replaced by the Maitri station.
