It is collector-base because negative terminal is probed to collector which is to be suffixed first. Then why not emitter-base?
Why it is written as base-emitter?
Why it is written as base-emitter?

Collector base junction is reversed biased so that electrons speed may be enhanced and they may freely move towards to he collector terminal.

If the answer is D then the question where base-emitter should change to emitter-base.
Because base-collector is the same as collector-base.
Because base-collector is the same as collector-base.

This answer is correct only for common base configuration. If we use common emmiter then collector-emmiter will be reverse biased.

The answer is not correct in case of the common emitter. In this case, it should be ce.
