The answer is wrong there is a difference between the turn ratio and transformation ratio.

So, the Answer should be 400/2000= 0.2.

Turn ratio is always N1/N2 which is always inverse of transformation ratio K & K=N2/N1.
Here the answer is 0.2.

1) Turns ratio in terms of number of turns is given by = higher number of turns/lower number of turns.

2) Turns ratio in terms of voltage is given by= low voltage/high voltage.

No, 400/2000= 0.2.is the correct answer.

According to IEEE, the turn ratio is defined as the ratio of HV to LV. The definition says nothing about primary or secondary.

HV side will be the side with greater no. of turns and LV side will be the side with fewer no. of turns.
therefore, a=HV/LV.

i.e 2000/400=5.

Turns ratio = n1/n2 = 400/2000 = 0.2.
Transformation ratio = n2/n1.

Here turns ratio is asked not transformation ratio.

According to IEEE "Turn ratio is higher voltage to lower voltage there isn't anything about primary and secondary voltage so high voltage divided by low voltage.

Turns ratio = N2/N1.
= 2000/400.
Ans = 5.

Turn ratio = N2/N1.

=2000/400 = 5 is the answer.

@All.

Here, Everyone is presenting different logic. For the previous question, they applied v1/v2 = n1/n2 and here opposite formula, without logic

According to my point of view;
When it is step up.
V2/V1 = N2/N1.

And it is step down,
V1/V2 = N1/N2.

The question here is how to check whether it is step up or step down by just number Of turns?
If secondary has more turns, it means it is step up and vice versa for stepdown.
