Turns Ratio = N2/N1 , So N2/N1 = 2000/400 = 5

Turns ratio k = n2/n1.

n2 = 2000, n1 = 400 now k = 2000/400.

So k = 5.

Answer is 0.2 only or else Tell me the difference between turns ratio and transformation ratio.

Shailesh said:   1 decade ago
Turns ratio = n1/n2 = 400/2000 = 0.2.

Transformation ratio = n2/n1.

Here turns ratio is asked not transformation ratio.

N2/N1 is a transformation ratio.

Hence obviously 2000/400 = 5.

V1/V2 = N1/N2 = E1/E2 = a.

Where 'a' is turns ratio.

400/2000 = 0.2.

Answer must be 0.2.

Transform ratio (N2/N1 = V2/V1 = I1/I2), turn ratio different (N1/N2).

Hi friends this answer is wrong because,

Turn ratio = N1/N2.

= 400/2000 = 0.2.

Hi guys this is wrong right.

Because N1/N2 = 'n' this is turns ratio.

So answer is = 0.2. How it comes 5?

Transformer ratio is N2/N1 = V2/V1 = I1/I2 = K this is transformer ratio.

In the question they are clearly ask Turns ratio. Then how it comes this answer. Please due to that am confused in one of my Exam. So please tell clearly any one.

NI/N2 = 'n' turns ratio.

N2/N1 = K, this is transformer ratio.

We know,

Ratio = n2/n1 [k = n2/n1].

Than, k = 2000/400.

k = 5.

So, ratio is 5.
