trasformation ratio,k=N2/N1
turns ratio=1/k= N1/N2

k=n2/n1
k=2000/400=5

Primary turns (n1) =400.

Secandary turns (n2) =2000.

Turns ratio (k) = n2/n1.

=2000/400.

Ans=5.

How can we say the answer is 5 ? Because in this problem you are mentioned primay is 400,secondary is 2000.

So my answer is turns ratio is 0.2 .

Here somebody said the answer is 5. They mentioned clearly in the problem primary turns is 400, secondary turns is 2000.

Please tell the reason clearly.

TURN RATIO FORMULA=SECONDARY TURNS(N2)/PRIMARY TURNS(N1).
SO, VALUE OF N2=2000 AND VALUE OF N1=400.
=>N2/N1
=>2000/400=5. THIS IS ANS.

Primary turns(N1)=400
Secondary turns(N2)=2000
Turn Ratio(K)=N2/N1
=>2000/400=5.
This Is Ans

But actually the formula for turns ratio is N1/N2 so the answer will be 0.2.
Please reply why all taken it as N2/N1.

so much confusion in the formula
Turn ratio is N1/N2 or N2/N1.
you have tried both the formula in two questions given here.

We know turn ratio = (turn on h. V) / (turn on l. V).

So,

Turn ratio = 2000/400.

Turn ratio = 5.

Transformation ratio = Vs/Vp = Es/Ep = Ns/Np = Ip/Is.
= Ns/Np = 2000/400 = 5.
