The Haryana government has approved Nilgai culling to address the growing human-wildlife conflicts, particularly due to the damage these animals cause to agricultural lands. Nilgais, or blue bulls, have been causing significant harm to crops, prompting the state to introduce new Wildlife (Protection) Rules allowing the culling of male Nilgais. While the decision aims to protect agriculture, it has faced opposition from environmentalists and local communities, particularly the Bishnoi community, who consider the Nilgai sacred. This move has sparked debates over its ethical and ecological implications.

114 infrastructure projects worth ₹1,028 crore were inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh by Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Yogi Adityanath. The projects include the construction of Munshipulia and Khurramnagar flyovers, aimed at improving transportation and urban connectivity. Haryana launched the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ campaign to boost soil health and promote sustainable farming. The initiative includes collecting soil samples from every acre of farmland across the state over the next 3-4 years. As part of the campaign, farmers are receiving Soil Health Cards to help them make informed decisions regarding soil fertility, nutrient management, and crop productivity. The state has already collected millions of soil samples, set up new testing labs, and introduced digital platforms to aid farmers in monitoring soil health.

Maharashtra has mandated the use of Marathi in all official communication across government, semi-government, and local self-government bodies. Marathi was designated as the official language of Maharashtra in 1960 and attained the status of a classical language in 2024. The Indian Constitution allows states to choose their official languages under Article 345. Other states, such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, have also implemented language policies to promote their regional languages. These policies aim to preserve linguistic heritage while ensuring accessibility and governance for local populations.
