Adani Power’s Godda Ultra Super Critical Thermal Plant is situated in Jharkhand. With a total capacity of 1,600 MW, the plant was initially developed to supply electricity to Bangladesh under a cross-border energy agreement. Recently, it has been approved for connection to India’s national electricity grid, enabling it to contribute to the country’s domestic power supply as well. This development marks a significant milestone in optimizing energy resources and enhancing regional power stability while showcasing Jharkhand’s growing importance as a hub for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

Vedanta Group has announced an additional investment of ₹1 lakh crore in Odisha, aimed at boosting industrial growth and employment in the state. The investment plans include a ₹2,000-crore ferro-alloys plant in Keonjhar and the development of two aluminium parks, one in Jharsuguda and another location identified by the state government. This strategic move is expected to generate over 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, enhancing Odisha’s industrial infrastructure and positioning it as a significant hub for the metals and mining sector in India.

The FIDE World Cup 2025 will be hosted in North Goa from October 31 to November 27, 2025. Kerala is set to construct its first underwater tunnel between Vypin and Fort Kochi as part of the state’s coastal highway project. The ₹2,672 crore project will reduce the travel distance from 16 km to just 3 km under the Arabian Sea. Developed by the Kerala Rail Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL), the tunnel features a twin-tube design, emergency stops, escape passages, and advanced safety systems. This initiative will significantly cut travel time, reduce commuting costs, and minimize disruption to port operations, marking a major milestone in Kerala’s infrastructure and transport development.

Chennai has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Indian city to fully implement a Real-Time Flood Forecasting and Spatial Decision Support System (RTFF & SDSS) in October 2025. This initiative enhances the city’s ability to predict and manage floods with greater accuracy, thereby improving disaster preparedness and resilience against climate-induced challenges. Funded through the World Bank’s Project Development Grant Fund (PDGF), the system integrates weather data, river flow patterns, and urban drainage models. It positions Chennai as a pioneering example of how technology can strengthen urban flood management and protect vulnerable communities.
