Manikanta H Hoblidhar set a new national record in the 100m sprint at the 62nd National Open Athletics Championships 2023. The 22-year-old sprinter had reset the seven-year-old national record in the men's 100m by clocking 10.23s in the semi-finals on Wednesday. In the 100m final on Thursday, Manikanta Hoblidhar won the title in 10.42s and was followed on the podium by Nikhil Patil (10.69) and Siva B (10.70). Manikanta Hoblidhar surpassed the previous national record of 10.26 seconds held by Amiya Kumar Mallick since April 2016.

KL Rahul broke Rohit Sharma's record for the fastest century by an Indian batter in a World Cup. Rahul scored a century in 62 balls against the Netherlands in Bengaluru. Rohit scored a century in 63 balls against Afghanistan in World Cup 2023.
