Scientists from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) discovered a new species of deep-water dogfish shark, named Squalus hima, at the Sakthikulangara fishing harbour in Kerala, along the Arabian Sea. This discovery highlights the rich biodiversity of marine life along the southwest coast of India, underscoring the importance of ongoing scientific research and conservation efforts in the region.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated Asia’s first "Pre-Clinical Network Facility" at the Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THSTI) in Faridabad.
