South India’s first and India’s largest leopard safari was recently inaugurated at Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) in Karnataka. Established to promote eco-recreation, eco-tourism, and conservation efforts, BBP evolved as a distinct entity from Bannerghatta National Park in 2002. Located approximately 22 kilometres south of Bengaluru, Karnataka, BBP spans an area of 731.88 hectares and houses a zoo, safari, butterfly park, and rescue centre. It is renowned for being the first biological park in India with a fenced, forested elephant sanctuary, making it a significant hub for wildlife conservation and education in the region.

Jaipur Military Station has achieved the distinction of becoming the second military station in India to construct a road using plastic waste, following Narangi Military Station in Guwahati, Assam, which pioneered this eco-friendly initiative in 2019. Inaugurated on June 26, 2024, by Major General R.S. Godara, this 100-meter-long road stretches from Sagat Singh Road under the bridge to the Cubs Corner complex. The initiative aligns with the Indian Army’s sustainable development goals, promoting durability and reducing environmental impact compared to traditional road construction methods.
