India has unveiled the world's first portable disaster hospital, the Arogya Maitri Cube. The hospital is a modular facility that can be airlifted and assembled in a matter of hours. It is equipped with a range of medical equipment, including an operation theatre, ICU, and laboratory. The Arogya Maitri Cube is designed to provide critical care to survivors of natural disasters and other emergencies.

The average processing time of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed for the Assessment Year (AY) 2023-24 has been reduced to 10 days. This is a significant improvement from the previous average processing time of 82 days for AY 2019-20 and 16 days for AY 2022-23.

The Union Cabinet has approved a Rs 3,760 crore viability gap funding (VGF) scheme for setting up battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the country. The scheme will be implemented by the Ministry of Power and will be open to all stakeholders, including government agencies, private companies, and state-owned enterprises.

According to the Ministry of Coal, India's coal production grew by 12.85% to 67.65 million tonnes in August 2023. This is the highest monthly coal production in India since March 2022. The growth was driven by a strong performance by Coal India Limited (CIL), which produced 52.27 million tonnes of coal in August 2023, up 13.21% from the same month last year.
