The National Landslide Forecasting Centre (NLFC) was inaugurated in Kolkata by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. This centre is designed to address and mitigate landslide hazards through live forecasting reports and early warning bulletins. Additionally, the Bhusanket Web Portal and Bhooskhalan Mobile App were launched alongside the NLFC to provide real-time data and enhance the accuracy of landslide forecasting. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a Mini-Ratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways, has been promoted to a 'Schedule A' category. The Thane Borivali Twin Tunnel, inaugurated on July 13, 2024, is India’s longest and largest urban tunnel. This 11.8 km tunnel, developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), connects Thane to Borivali, significantly reducing travel time from over an hour to just 12 minutes.
