Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's 9th death anniversary is commemorated on July 27, 2024. Known as the "Missile Man of India," Dr. Kalam significantly contributed to aerospace engineering and defence technology. He played a vital role in developing India's Agni and Prithvi missiles and was instrumental in the successful Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. Dr. Kalam's legacy extends beyond his scientific achievements, inspiring countless individuals with his dedication to integrity, humility, and perseverance.

The sunken museum, India's first, will be inaugurated at the Humayun's Tomb complex in Delhi. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds significant historical importance. PM launched the Shinkun La Tunnel project on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The tunnel, set to be the world's highest, will be constructed in Ladakh at an altitude of approximately 15,800 feet. This 4.1-km-long twin-tube tunnel will be part of the Nimu-Padum-Darcha road and is being built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) with an investment of Rs 1,681 crore.

Researchers at IIT Guwahati are studying the p30 protein of the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV), a highly contagious virus affecting pigs and causing significant economic losses for pig farms. The p30 protein plays a crucial role in helping the virus evade the host’s immune system. Understanding this protein is essential for developing effective measures to combat ASFV, which is transmitted through tick bites, direct contact, and contaminated food and is resistant to standard cooking methods. This research highlights IIT Guwahati's involvement in critical agricultural and veterinary science studies.

The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) was formed on June 6, 2007, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The WCCB is headquartered in New Delhi and plays a crucial role in combating organized wildlife crime in India. It became fully operational in 2008 and focuses on various functions such as data collection, advisory roles, and international cooperation to curb wildlife offences and prevent illegal trade.
