The Doda region is part of Jammu & Kashmir, a Union Territory in northern India characterized by mountainous terrain and high seismic vulnerability, falling under Seismic Zones 4 and 5. Due to its eco-fragile nature, the government is strengthening disaster preparedness by installing a Doppler weather radar for real-time weather monitoring and a seismological observatory for earthquake tracking. These initiatives enhance early warning systems, improve forecasting in remote areas, and contribute to minimising risks associated with natural disasters in the region.

Kalpakkam is the location of India’s first indigenously developed 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR), which recently attained criticality. Developed by Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Ltd (BHAVINI), the reactor marks a major milestone in India’s nuclear power programme. It represents the second stage of the three-stage nuclear strategy, aimed at utilising plutonium and eventually thorium for sustainable energy production. The reactor is designed to produce more fuel than it consumes and includes advanced safety features, showcasing India’s progress in nuclear technology and self-reliance.

Pensioner Welfare Initiative is the recognition given to DLC Campaign 4.0, which has become the largest campaign for pensioners in India. Conducted by the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare, it achieved massive outreach by generating 1.91 crore Digital Life Certificates between April 2025 and March 2026. The campaign introduced advanced Face Authentication Technology, enabling elderly pensioners to submit certificates easily from home. With extensive coverage across 2,000 locations and support from multiple stakeholders, it ensured accessibility, especially for senior citizens, and marked a major step in digital governance and inclusive service delivery.

The Foundation Day of the Reserve Bank of India is observed on April 1 each year, marking its establishment in 1935 under the RBI Act of 1934. This day highlights the central bank’s crucial role in managing India’s monetary policy, controlling inflation, regulating the banking system, and ensuring financial stability. Over time, the RBI has expanded its functions to include digital payment security and financial innovation. Observing this day also emphasizes the institution’s continued importance in addressing modern economic challenges such as currency fluctuations, global uncertainties, and maintaining overall economic stability in India.

Sadhana Saptah is a nationwide capacity-building initiative launched by the Capacity Building Commission in April 2026. It is designed to strengthen governance by enhancing the skills and competencies of civil servants across India. The program involves participation from numerous ministries, states, and training institutions, making it one of the greatest collaborative efforts of its kind. Structured around themes like technology, tradition, and tangible outcomes, it aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The initiative also complements Mission Karmayogi by promoting role-based training and improving public service delivery.
