Jaunpur, a city in Uttar Pradesh, is renowned as the "City of Imarti" due to its unique Imarti delicacy, which has a distinct taste and aroma that has been cherished since the British era. The district administration has been working to obtain a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Jaunpur's Imarti, highlighting its cultural significance.

Six new sites from Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior Fort, Dhamnar Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple, Rock Art Sites of Chambal Valley, Khooni Bhandara, Burhanpur, and Gond monuments of Ramnagar, Mandla, were added to the Tentative UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites (WHS).

Tripura's traditional items, Matabari Pera and Pachra, have been honoured with the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, marking a significant milestone for local artisans and weavers in the state.

The headquarters of UNESCO is located in Paris, France. UNESCO, founded in 1945, is responsible for designating and preserving World Heritage Sites globally. Some of the newly included heritage sites from Madhya Pradesh in the tentative UNESCO list are Gwalior Fort, Dhamnar rock-cut caves, Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple in Bhojpur, Chambal valley rock art site, Khooni Bhandara-Burhanpur, and Ramnagar and Mandla Gond sites. Audrey Azoulay serves as the current Director-General of UNESCO.

The Chapchar Kut festival, Mizoram's grandest celebration, took place across the state with traditional fervour. The festival, marked by vibrant customs and festivities, attracted thousands to the Assam Rifles Ground in Aizawl, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Mizoram.
