Short for complementary metal oxide semiconductor. Pronounced see-moss, CMOS is a widely used type of semiconductor. CMOS semiconductors use both NMOS (negative polarity) and PMOS (positive polarity) circuits.
Since only one of the circuit types is on at any given time, CMOS chips require less power than chips using just one type of transistor.
This makes them particularly attractive for use in battery-powered devices, such as portable computers. Personal computers also contain a small amount of battery-powered CMOS memory to hold the date, time, and system setup parameters.

The fixed disk error can be caused by any of the following possibilities:
1.Hard drive not setup properly in CMOS
2.Hard disk drive not detected
3.Hard disk drive not setup
4.Bad hard disk drive

If we remove CMOs the password will lost and date time seating will change.

If remove CMOS battery we can't use BIOS setting in our purpose. It seen that default settings.

The time and date settings will no longer be saved when the system is shut down. It is the duty of the cmos to save time and date when the system is shut down.
