Cpu is a brain of the computer because over all parts is connected to CPU.

The CPU is the brain of computer and ALU is the component of CPU.

CPU= Central Processing Unit.

It's a Microprocessor (It's a chip). It contains millions of transistors which help in manipulate data. There's an ALU (arithmetic-logic unit) part which performs calculation within seconds. Also, CU (Control Unit) gives the result of execution (as taking input and instruction from a program it respond for output).

Further, the ALU is divided into two units, an arithmetic unit (AU) and a logic unit (LU). You may say a CPU as the decision maker.

In simple language, Fetching Instruction from Main Memory to CU, then decoding instruction into command, ALU help to execute the program and again it stores in the memory. A complete cycle goes on.

All computer operator like a mouse, keybord are connected to cpu. Cpu is handling all operators and control like human brian so computer brain is cpu.

CPU stands for central processing unit.

Why not ALU?

CPU stands for Central Processing Unit.

CPU is also called a Brain of the computer.

CPU contains two parts:

One is ALU and other is CU.
ALU performs arithmetic and logic operations and CU controls the overall operations.
So CU is called the Brain of the computer.

CPU (Central Processing unit) is considered the brain of computer.
