Answer is none of the above as to find out the effective span two calculations are required and smaller value will be treated as effective span.

In case of load on simply supported slab the effective length will be considered from the one edge to another edge of the slab because the slab is not continuous (in simply supported slab the ends will be considered as free or pinned But not fixed or continuous). So the whole length of the slab will be affected by the load. So the effective length of the slab is equal to internal wall to wall distance + the length of the slab which is mounted on the wall on both sides.

It's clear span+depth of slab or Clear span+wall thickness. Least of two will be adopted for design consideration.
