B is also the incorrect one.
Shear stress=v/(b * d).....Area=b * d.
So it is inversely proportional.

Shear stress is directly proportional to V.

Where V is shear force.

Shear stress increases with increases in shear load it's proportional.

Answer can also be (A). Shear force d effect the shear stress.

Why it can't be a shear force?
