Ultimate strength to cement is provided by
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Dicalcium Silicate (C2S): This compound will undergo reaction slowly. It is responsible for the ultimate strength of concrete. This is also called as Belite. The heat of hydration is 260 J/Cal. Its proportion is 25 - 40%.

Tricalcium silicate would contribute more in gaining the early and ultimate strength of the concrete then that of dicalcium silicate. So C3S is the answer.

Raising of C2S, early strength reduces in comparison to C3S but, increases ultimate strength along with decreasing heat of hydration.
Almost after 1 year, C2S contribute the strength and durability almost equal to the C3S.
C2S imparts resistance to chemical attack.
