Gneiss is obtained from Granite (Igneous rock) because of metamorphism.

So, A is correct. More suitable answer could be Igneous Metamorphic Rock.

Correct Answer is sedimentary-metamorphic rocks because Gniess is obtained from igneous as well as sedimentary rocks after the metamorphic action.

Gneiss is a metamorphic rock with a banded or foliated structure, typically coarse-grained and consisting mainly of feldspar, quartz, and mica.

Gniess is a metamorphic rock. And it is obtained from granite, which is igneous plutonic rock. So I think option A gives the correct answer.

Gniess made through metamorphic action of a sedimentary rock called 'laterite'.

In this way guiess is sedimentary metamorphic rock.

Shale (S) >Slate (M) >Phyllite (M) >Schist (M) >Gneiss (M).

So Granite is obtained from sedimentary-metamorphic rocks!

Gneiss is a metamorphic rock which obtained form conversion of granite, therefore, I think metamorphic rock is the correct answer.

Gniess is obtained by metamorphism action of granite. The granite is igneous. So the gneiss obtained from igneous rock.

Igneous rock is decomposed to gneiss by metamorphic action. D is absolutely wrong. The right answer will be A.

Gneiss IS a Metamorphic Rock ------ Original Rock is Granite (Igneous Rock) so answer is Igneous Metamorphic.
