Son's age is exactly to half to the fathers age, suppose if fathers age is 38 then sons age is 38/2 i.e, 19 and 5 years back his is 19-5 =14.

How can we say that Both X is same variable?
I mean why 38-X = X,
Why not 38 - X = Y, where Y is Father's age.

We can't take two variables because present son's age is equal to the age of father when the son was born. Okay. ?
