The total votes= 7500.
Invalid votes % = 20% of total votes i.e 20%of 7500=1500.
So, total valid votes= 7500-1500 = 6000.
Now, think about total valid votes only i.e 6000(which means it is 100% valid vote only).
Out of 100%, one got 55% of the valid vote and other (100-55) = 45%.
So, we get 45% of 6000= 2700 which is required answer.
Invalid votes % = 20% of total votes i.e 20%of 7500=1500.
So, total valid votes= 7500-1500 = 6000.

55% Votes Are Valid.. And Remaining 45% is 3375.
So, out of these 45%.
20% are Invalid so 20% of 3375 (i.e 45%) is 675 votes which are Invalid and Valid Votes are 3375-675 = 2700.
So, out of these 45%.
20% are Invalid so 20% of 3375 (i.e 45%) is 675 votes which are Invalid and Valid Votes are 3375-675 = 2700.

Total votes is 7500, invalid votes is 20%= 6000.
6000 * 55%=3300 valid votes and remaining votes are 6000-3300=2700.
6000 * 55%=3300 valid votes and remaining votes are 6000-3300=2700.

As per the question:
55% out of valid vote which is 80% (since 20% vote is invalid)
Therefore, 80% - 55% = 25% (valid vote left)
So, 25/100 * 6000 = 1500.
55% out of valid vote which is 80% (since 20% vote is invalid)
Therefore, 80% - 55% = 25% (valid vote left)
So, 25/100 * 6000 = 1500.

How 45% valid vote left?
In question it is said that 20% of the total vote is invalid then 80% valid votes where remaining and if one got 55% valid vote then other on will have (80-55) % = 25% valid vote.

{Total % of votes} 100% - 55% {valid votes} = 45%.
{rest off} 45% - (20% of 45)% {invalid votes}.
=> 45% - {(20 * 45)/100}%,
=> (45 - 9)%,
=> 36% {valid vote % of other candidate}.
# The total no. of votes was (100%) = 7500 {given}.
No. of valid votes of other candidate:- 7500 * 36%,
=> (7500 * 36)/100,
=> 2700.
The number of valid votes of other candidates = 2700 votes.
{rest off} 45% - (20% of 45)% {invalid votes}.
=> 45% - {(20 * 45)/100}%,
=> (45 - 9)%,
=> 36% {valid vote % of other candidate}.
# The total no. of votes was (100%) = 7500 {given}.
No. of valid votes of other candidate:- 7500 * 36%,
=> (7500 * 36)/100,
=> 2700.
The number of valid votes of other candidates = 2700 votes.

@Shivani.
80% - (55% of 80).
=> (80 - {(55*80)/100} )%,
=> (80 - 44)%,
valid votes = 36%.
80% - (55% of 80).
=> (80 - {(55*80)/100} )%,
=> (80 - 44)%,
valid votes = 36%.
