19.70 rs. Is the write answer because.
Given:
(1) Total cost of the things purchased: Rs. 25.
The things purchased of rs. 25 includes both taxable and non-taxable things.
(2) Sales tax: 30 paise = 0.3 rs.
(3) Tax rate: 6%.
This tax rate will be applied on cost of taxable products which gives sales tax.
Solution:
Step 1: Find cost of products on which tax is applied (i.e. Taxable products).
So here, let x be the cost of products on which tax is applied.
And tax rate on x product is 0. 3.
i.e 6% of x = 0.3.
x = 5.
Rs. 5 is only the cost of taxable product, on which sales tax is going to be added.
Your doubt: why sales tax (ie. 0.3) is added with cost of taxable product (ie. 5).
Answer to your doubt:
Question your self: On what sales tax is applied.
Ans: Products that has tax on them.
So, we find the cost of products that has tax on them and add it to sales tax.
i.e. 5+0.3 = 5.3.
Step 2: Find Non-taxable products.
Cost of products = (Cost of taxable products + Cost of non-taxable products).
25= 5.3 + cost of non-taxable products.
Cost of non-taxable products = 25-5.3 = 19.70 rs.

Cost of stationary item is Rs. 25 which is included tax 30 paise.
So cost of item without tax is 25-0.30 = 24.70.
Now according to question let cost of item in which applying tax be X.
So 6% of X = 30/100 (because to convert paise into rupee divide by 100).
= 6/100*X = 30/100.
X = 5 rupees.
Now, cost of item with tax free = 24.70-5 = 19.70.
So cost of item without tax is 25-0.30 = 24.70.
Now according to question let cost of item in which applying tax be X.
So 6% of X = 30/100 (because to convert paise into rupee divide by 100).
= 6/100*X = 30/100.
X = 5 rupees.
Now, cost of item with tax free = 24.70-5 = 19.70.

There is an also another way.
1) The bought thing of Rs. 25.
2) 30 paise (0.030).
So subtract it 25-(0.030) = 24.7.
Then 30/6*100 = 30/6 = 5.
Subtract 24.7-5 = 19.7.
So here you get 19.7.
1) The bought thing of Rs. 25.
2) 30 paise (0.030).
So subtract it 25-(0.030) = 24.7.
Then 30/6*100 = 30/6 = 5.
Subtract 24.7-5 = 19.7.
So here you get 19.7.

2) A container contains 30 litres of alcohol. From this container 5 litres of liquid is taken out and the container is completely filled by water. Next time 6 litres of mixture was taken out and the container was completely filled with water. Approx how much percent alcohol is left behind in the container?
5 litres removed from 30 liters.
>>> alcohol removed = 5(25/30).
= 4.16 liters.
>>> alcohol present = 25 - 4.16.
= 20.84 liters.
Now 6 liters removed from 30 liters.
>>> alcohol removed = 6 (20.84/30).
= 4.168 liters.
>>> alcohol present = 20.84 - 4.168.
= 16.67 liters.
Now we are asked % of alcohol present:
= 16.67 of 30.
= 16.67/30 * 100 = 55.56 %.

Tax = 6%.
There for tax = 6% of 24.7 (excluding 30 ps).
That is = 1. 482.
Therefore tax free = 25 - (1.482 + 0.3) = 23.218 know?

Simple:
X be taxed items.
Y be non-taxed items.
Rs.25
Tax 30 Paise.
Tax 6%.
(6/100)X = (30/100).
X = 5.
Y = (25-(X+0.30)).
Y = 19.70.
