Wipro Limited Interview Experience - Future Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata, 1st September 2016
Wipro does not allow candidates with subjects of arrears or backlogs. This year all the eligible students had to register themselves online for the recruitment process and take a print out of the boarding pass.
There were 350+ students sitting for the Wipro campus drive and we all were told to report by 8 am.
On the first day, We had met the officials of Wipro Tech in our college auditorium and had pre-placement talk. They discussed about the Wipro's evolution and other related information.
After the ppt they have announced that the students who has 75% throughout his/her academic career are exempted from the aptitude round. They just need to appear for a technical ability test. It consisted 14 technical questions related to C, JAVA, DS and basic computing and was of 17 minutes, followed by an essay writing. Cut off was 5.
Those who cleared tech round was redirected to essay round. I was one of that C75 or the topper category. The test was conducted by "Amcat".
The technical aptitude round was adaptive. All the questions required very clear concepts of C, DS and Java. They were easy.
101 students out of 135 cleared this round.
After the test the result was declared at the afternoon and just after that the technical interview round started.
The aptitude round for the non-topper category student took place after our technical test was over. Their technical interview and HR round was conducted next day.
The aptitude round were not very easy, but if one can solve the R.S. Agarwal book, he or she won't be facing much difficulty.
About 30 students from 230 cleared this apti round. :o.
The person who took my interview was a cool man with a relaxed attitude.
I entered the room at 11.30 am for my technical round. The interviewer was firstly stumped seeing my resume. He was pretty much impressed for that. After that he asked me to write a program to print Fibonacci series in JAVA followed by string concatenation using pointers(C) and few questions from microprocessor(8085). Strong grip on subjects like C, Java will make it easy for you to clear this round.
For all branch students basic program is a must. The programs like Fibonacci series, palindrome, factorial, even and odd etc.
About 50 cleared this technical round and was sent to HR round. :0.
I was the first one to go to my HR panel from my dept. My interviewer was the one who spoke in the presentation. She was a decent woman.
I had HR interview for 20 minutes and I was literally facing questions like bullets. From intricate details of my Resume, to giving different situations, she asked me everything.
Guys. Make your Resume in a correct manner. Because most of the questions will be based on that.
1. Tell me about Yourself.
2. What are your Hobbies?
3. Questions based on your hobbies.
4. Why should I hire you?
5. Why do you want to join in our company?
6. What are your strengths and weakness?
7. Why Wipro?
And then the scenario begins. I said that one of the reason for which I want to join Wipro was, due to its ethics.
Now she asked me. Are you a ethical person? The only answer which I can give is a YES.
Now she asked me to tell An example where I have applied ETHICS in engineering?
Now how can you correlate these 2 things?
Most of the interview time was spent on this mighty question. Somehow I managed to convince her. ;).
Self intro is the basic question. And the interviewer decides most of the verdict from it.
And always keep a stress less smile on your face.
P.S - Wipro is very much worried about the marks,. So, Please study little more to get good marks and they also wants sound coding knowledge rather than the subjective knowledge. So Please practice the basics of C and JAVA. You can surely crack the interview.
