Virtusa Polaris Interview Experience - Rajamundry 28/08/2017
I am Y.NIKHIL, Computer Science and Engineering student at Godavari Institute of Engineering & Technology (GIET), Rajahmundry.
Recently I have attended a of campus drive conducted by "VIRTUSA POLARIS" in our college.
Now I would like to share my experience with you, which I had during the interview.
The Interview process is started at 10:00 am .The interview process consists of three rounds. The recruitment done is only for CSE & MCA students and having minimum 65% and two backlogs.
Written Test :
The written test is for 40 questions followed by two java programs. we have to take the exam in online. All the questions are related to Technical topics means core topics. It does not contain any aptitude or reasoning questions. The questions are mainly based on JAVA, DBMS & SOFTWARE ENGINEERING,UML.
One must be through with all the java concepts because it also helps a lot during interview because VIRTUSA interviews are done mainly on JAVA. Coming to DBMS, the questions are related to SQL queries. There is a less focus on software engineering and UML, but basics should be clear and we have to know about SDLC Life Cycle and UML Diagrams. The time given for these 40 questions is 50 minutes.
1) Do not open new tab once your test is started. Your test will end automatically and second chance will not be provided.
2) You cannot navigate through the sections. That is, if you proceed with the next section thy cannot come back to the previous section. SO BE CAREFUL.
The test is followed by two programs, we have to write the code for the given program only in java also have to pass the test cases given and the time given is 40 MINUTES. The program is not much harder.
They will describe the problem and give us maximum code we have to fill the small part of the incomplete code.Partial codes are also considered. So, better try to attempt the logic at-least. Time is not a matter in VIRTUSA POLARIS written test. There is a enough time.
OUT OF 160 MEMBERS 30 WERE SHORTLISTED FOR THE TR ROUND AND I WAS ONE AMONG THEM.
After some time it's my turn to attend the Technical Round. I entered into the cabin.
Me : Good Afternoon sir.
Sir : Good Afternoon Nikhil. Take your seat.
Me : Thank you sir.
Sir: How Was your day?
Me: Good Sir.
Sir: NIkhil, Introduce Yourself
Me: I introduced myself in 5 minutes.
Sir: Nice,now let's go to technical questions.So What you know about SDLC Life cycle and SDLC Models?
Me: Explained with diagrams.
Sir: Good.Now let's enter into UML Diagrams.So tell me about types of diagrams?
Sir: Good.Tell me about your project?
Me: Explained with some code of my project in 15 Minutes.I think he is satisfied with my project explanation.
Sir: Your project is good and i was impressed by your project.Tell me OOP's concepts with real time examples.
Sir: Write a program on recursion, any type of Sorting, Armstrong, Prime number.
Me: Written and explained with examples to interviewer.
Sir: Good.Okay have a nice day.You may leave.:-)
Me:Thank You Sir.:-)
OUT OF 30 MEMBERS 9 WERE SHORTLISTED FOR THE HR ROUND AND I WAS ONE AMONG THEM.
HR Round :
After knowing that I have cleared the technical, I was asked to wait for HR interview. After some time I have received a call for HR interview.
Me : Good Afternoon sir.
Sir : Yeah Good Afternoon. Take your seat.
Me : Thank you sir.
Sir : Introduce about yourself ?
Me : (said about my name, educational qualifications,my hobbies and about my family background).
Sir: Tell me how many 5's are present between 0 to 100?
Me: Told. Answer:19
Sir: Can you relocate from your family?
Me: Yes sir.
Sir: Okay,you may leave now.
Me: Thank you sir...:-).
Within a short time, All the 9 members who went for HR Round are called by HR's. and we had small discussion about how was today and they asked any feedback for us..then we all said NO Sir.They said that we will announce some names the names who are announced they got SELECTED.
They announced list of some members Luckily I am one of them. They gave all of us each one a "VIRTUSA KEYCHAIN".
Unfortunately, Two members are not selected. HR's Said that this was not your day. So best of luck and don't lose hope.
"SUCCESS MAY BE DELAYED BUT NOT DENIED" ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, THE BEST IS WAITING FOR YOU, REMEMBER THAT AND MOVE FORWARD AND YOU MUST DON'T LOOSE CONFIDENCE.
