Tech mahindra Interview Experience - Hyderabad 7-10-16

Posted By : Anonymous Rating : +113, -5
Hello Friends,

I have been reading the experience of various people in IndiaBix since my final year of B.Tech. Now, it's my turn to share my own experience with you. I recently attended the off-campus drive conducted by Tech Mahindra in Hyderabad. The eligibility criteria are as follows.

1) Should have an aggregate of minimum 60% (X, XII, Graduation).
2) Should not have a gap of more than one year in Academics.

You have to register on the registration link provided by Tech Mahindra to attend the drive. After your registration, you will get a Registration id and password which is required to appear for the written test. On September 27th I received the invite to appear on the drive in Hyderabad on October 7th. The  pattern is as follows,

1.) Written test (Aptitude, reasoning, English, Puzzles).
2.) Essay writing based on a picture.
3.) Technical interview.
4.) HR Interview.

WRITTEN TEST (75 questions in 50 minutes):

It consists of total seven sections.

SECTION 1 (English 1):
Synonyms, Antonyms, Spot the error, Find the correct word (spell check), Sentence completion (Vocabulary), articles, prepositions.

Now the main thing to do well in this section is to FOCUS ON THE VOCABULARY as the section is entirely based on synonyms and antonyms.

SECTION 2 (English 2):
Tenses, Subject verb agreement, Confusing words, Sentence jumbles, Spot the errors, Idioms and Phrases.

SECTION 3 (English 3):
Reading comprehension-(3 questions)

SECTION 4 (Quant):
This section consists of 11 questions.
Profit and loss-2, Averages-3, Time and distance, Time and work, Partnership, Calendars, Boats and streams, Alligation and mixtures.

For some candidates the topics on clocks, Number systems were also asked.

The main thing to crack this section is to practice the questions from this site and also go for RS AGARWAL aptitude, Previous papers.

SECTION 5 (Puzzle):
The section consists of a paragraph with some information (NOT SEATING ARRANGEMENT). Based on which you have to solve the questions.

For me A,B,C,D,E are lawyers, P,Q,R,S,T are doctors and the remaining are teachers. Now form a team such that it consists of one lawyer, two teachers like that...

This section is the Time-consuming section and it consists of five questions which are dependent on one another. If you make one mistake then all the questions may go wrong. so, solve carefully.

SECTION 6: (Reasoning-20 questions).
Coding and decoding, Number series, Seating arrangements, odd man outs-3, Analogies-3.

The section is easy when compared to other sections and can be completed in less time.

SECTION 7: (Picture reasoning).
This section has five questions which follow a sequence in every picture and the next sequence has to be identified.

For this section practice questions from IndiaBix.

Each and every section has around 60% cutoff and there is also overall cutoff.you can read  the instructions before you start the exam but they won't mention the cutoff marks.

Once you clear the first section you will see  a message something like Congratulations. You are done and you will be redirected to a picture where you have to describe it with your imagination in 200 words and the time allotted is 15 minutes. After the submission of the  essay you will get a message like Thank you, you have submitted the exam.

After that, the coordinator asked us to wait in the Auditorium for the Picture description results. The essay will be evaluated manually and the content which you write will be sent to some other Tech Mahindra locations (NOT THE DRIVE LOCATION) and some employees will give  a rating to your content and the average is considered and is sent back to the venue This is the process they follow in the evaluation of Picture description.

My result was announced after 45 minutes Around  3 people were eliminated from our batch  after picture description round.

Then the coordinator guided us to a room where the interviews were conducted. We have around 12 panels (9 TR and 3 HR). After that, you have to submit the required documents as per the pattern is given by the coordinator.

TR INTERVIEW:

My interviewer is a lady of and seems very calm and Once you are done with TR coordinator will announce the result.

ME: Good afternoon mam.
TR: Good afternoon. Have your seat.

ME: Thank you, mam.

TR: Just give me a minute (The interviewer was busy in filling some online content)
ME: Ok, mam.

After having a glance at my resume she replied,

TR: Introduce yourself.
ME: Told about my qualification, hobbies, strengths, etc.

TR: Your project seems interesting what's your role in the project?
ME: Told the way how we solved the challenges which we encountered in the project and being a team leader my responsibility to submit the report to the project in charge and assignment of work among our team members.

TR: If there is a conflict among the team members how do you solve that?
ME: Told.

TR: Can you explain the project?
ME: Told.

On project, TR asked around eight questions as I am from NON-CSE BRANCH she did not ask anything related to C, CPP, Java but having some basic knowledge in these subjects is mandatory while on the other side for CSE AND IT students they asked to write  programs on SORTING TECHNIQUES.

My interview lasted for around 30 minutes.

After some time we were asked to get ready for HR Round.

HR round:

ME: Good afternoon sir.
HR: Good afternoon, please be seated.

HR: Are you willing to go for further studies?
ME: Told.

HR: Ok.

HR: Are you willing to relocate?
ME: Yes, sir.

HR: Will you sign a bond for two years and what do you know about Tech Mahindra?
ME: Told.

After sometime,

HR: Congratulations you are selected.
ME: Thank you, sir.

The interview lasted for around 15 minutes and they mainly focused on our speaking skills, spontaneity to some situations. So, friends, this is the process which we had undergone in the selection process of Tech Mahindra in off-campus drive. I was rejected by  NTT DATA, TCS and done with HR round in SYNTEL (Conducted on June 5th in Vizag) but the result was not announced yet.

Finally, I made my hope and got placed in Tech Mahindra. All you have to do is to focus on written test as it is entirely different when compared to other companies like TCS, SYNTEL.

Finally, 12 members went through TR and HR rounds in my batch.

Never lose your hope and All the best.

Thank you.
