TechMahindra Interview Experience - Kurnool, AP, March 25th & 26th, 2014
I just thought to help you with my experience.
TechMahindra conducted 4 rounds.
1. Written Test.
2. Essay writing.
3. Technical Interview.
4. HR interview.
First they gave a presentation about their company for not more than 25 min.
It was on Aptitude and English.
70 questions were from aptitude and 100 from English. Both sessions were given combine 80 minutes.
Some of the questions were given from previous papers. So, better to prepare previous papers thoroughly.
It was very easy. But English was little tough than expected.
Out of 330, 85 cleared the written test. And I was one of them.
The day ended.
We were asked to arrive at sharp 9 am in the morning.
Generally they will give a topic of their choice, but for us, it was our own choice. I took my topic as Road Accidents. An application was given to be filled up by us. In that Last page was for Essay. So, our essay must not exceed a page.
This is not an elimination round.
I entered the room gently.
The first question was " Tell about yourself and family. ".
The next question was " Why you have chosen ECE?" because I am an Electronics student. I told a very good answer. He was impressed.
Going through my resume', he asked about the my paper presentations, I explained one of them very clearly. He didn't asked another one.
Asked about C language, cloud computing. I told.
Asked some questions regarding ECE.
Asked software life cycle. As I know little about that, told him the same.
He included some questions which are generally asked by the HRs.
He: "Will you work extra hours?".
He: "How about your Security?".
I: my colleagues will be with me. So thats not a problem.
He was impressed.
Some other questions follwed these.
Finally, he said "You can leave. ".
I came out.
Some students were eliminated here.
I cleared the Technical round. The next was HR round.
Surprisingly, "tell about yourself" was not the first question to me.
He went through the application form.
He asked about some of the details in it.
Then asked to tell about the essay in brief.
He asked, How will you change your city, to avoid accidents?
I explained my plans in a technical way.
He asked " why techmahindra?".
And it was the end.
I think as in the technical round itself, many of the HR questions were covered, the HR round was very simple.
In the evening, the results were announced.
And finally, I got selected for TechMahindra. Very happy for that.
Guys, be confident in what ever you say. Make them realize that you are completely fit for their company. Be prepared with any general issue (scientific, political etc. ) because they may sometimes asks you to talk on an issue. It tells them that you are aware of global things.
Hold your tongue before you spell a single letter. I really managed my thoughts when the questions related to HR were asked in the technical round.
Don't discourage yourself if you don't get into TechMahindra. Life gives us many opportunities, just proper utilization of them is important.
Once when you get through the techmahindra, don't be idle in career, keep on trying for other companies also, because you may deserve something better than Techmahindra.
And one thing is, always be prepared for the most important question "Tell about yourself". Don't tell about your family here. Only tell about your interested subjects, why you like programming (if you are non-cse/it, like me :). ) And keep on telling until they stop you. In the end tell about your family, if they don't stop you, if they are giving you more time, then stop there and tell them that you are ready to answer if they want further details.
And sometimes, we can't expect this questions. Just like it happened to me.
Finally, guys All the best!
Be confident! A Better Life is waiting for you! :).
