TCS Interview Experience - Hyderabad, 9th June 2019
Technical round: There were 2 persons sitting in front of me. I entered the room with some nervousness but by seeeing their smiling faces I got some relaxation. They asked my resume. As I am from a college in vizianagaram they asked me the speciality of that place. As I don't know they only told me.
They asked about project and my role in the project. Then they asked me to scale the programming languages and concepts that I mentioned in reume. Then they asked my favourite subject.
As I told C, they given a problem statement regarding arrays including strings and asked me to write the logic. I have written that and they they asked me to explain. Then they asked another interested subject, then I told SQL.
They asked why? At that moment I don't have any answer but gave some silly explanation. They asked whether there is database connectivity in our project. I said no.
Then they asked how input is taken in our project, again explained about the project. Then they asked me the usage of python. Told. They asked about interpreter and then the difference between compiler and interpreter. Told.
As this is my second interview at TCS, they asked why I was rejected previously. As there was no offer letter from any company in my hand they asked the reason. I explained. They asked whether I improved than before. I told not completely but yes.
Then they said "You will not be placed in hyderabad for damn sure, is that ok?". I said "Ok sir. ". They said" You will be placed in Noida or Pune, is that ok?". I said " its ok sir". They also asked about shifts.
Finally they asked me "Any doubts?". I asked "My feed back".
One person (the young one) said " You are good at your level. ", the other one (the elder one) said as you are cse background the expectations will be more. ".
They said me to wait outside.
They intimated that I cleared TR and have to wait for HR round.
I entered the HR's room. He seriously asked "Who are you? What do you want?". I was clumsy whether I entered the correct room or not. Then he smiled and said to sit.
He took my resume. He asked the meaning of my name. I told. He given some explanation and asked me whether that explanation is correct for the meaning of my name. I said I don't know. He asked my project and asked difference between machine learning and deep learning. I explained. He said that my answer was wrong. I said him no sir that is correct for damn sure (as my project is on deep learning). Then he asked me about binary search, I explained.
Then he explained me about ternary search and asked me why we are not using ternery search. Then he asked me the time complexity of binary search and ternary search. I answered as logn (base 2) and logn (3). He asked how log came here. I said this is the solution came by using masters theorem.
Then he gave me some problems like log3 (base -3) , log1 (base 10) , log1 (base e) and asked me to answer. I have given for both log1 (base e) and log1 (base 10) as 1. Then he asked " Is that mean e=10? He also asked to plot sinx and sin2x and asked the diffrentiation and integration concepts.
He also given one logical problem which is of insufficient data to solve. He also asked to write a program to reverse a decimal number like (123.456 to 654.321). I havent answered for this question there but tried later. He asked me location preferences. I told.
Finally he asked me "Any doubts?" Then I asked my feedback. Then he said "Who am I to give feedback and ours is a casual conversation.
I wasnot selected but came to know that the HR round sometimes can also be in this manner.
