Hello friends,

I am a student of DIATM, Durgapur of ECE branch. I attended TCS off-campus drive for 2016 batch in Kolkata.

As everybody knows there are 3 rounds in TCS selection process.

1. Aptitude & Email writing.
2. Technical round.
3. HR round (sometimes they take MR round also).

So, on 2nd March 2016, Email writing and aptitude test were held. Email writing has the duration of 10 mins in which we have to write an Email using all given phrases in given order. I was very much careful because in ON CAMPUS I was rejected in Email writing round. After Email writing round there was aptitude round in which I make 24 correct out of 30. (always try to make above 20)

After two days I got a mail that I am shortlisted for Interviews. after few days, I got another mail regarding the dates of interviews which were the 18th March 2016 at TCS Kolkata.

On the day of an interview, I reach there early. Around 700 students were there for an interview on that particular day.  Around 11 am I entered in the TCS campus waiting hall. After the wait of half an hour, I was called for the interview.

When I was entering in interview room my HR told me to wait outside, I was waiting there and looking how they analyzing my CV and application form the door of glass. After the wait of few mins, I called inside by them.

There are two male HRs and they look like in very cool mood. They offer me water to drink and told me to relax. This behavior of HRs makes me full of confidence.after that they start to ask questions.

Questions in TECHNICAL round:

1. What do yo do in college?

2. Diff between C and JAVA?

3. Features of OOPS?

4. Do you want to do higher studies? which course, why?

5. Flags of microprocessor 8085? (as I was from ECE branch)

6. Tell me about your project?

7. How do you like to work as a group leader or group member, why?

That's it. I was surprised as they don't ask me to write any programs.

After that, they told me to wait in the hall for next round. THE PERSON WHO CLEARED THEIR TECHNICAL ROUND ONLY CALLED FOR HR OR MR ROUND, and I was one of those lucky guys who cleared it.

After few mins of wait, I was called for HR round. My HR for that HR round was a young lady around 26 to 28 years of age. I greeted her and took my seat on the chair.

Questions in HR round:-

1. Tell me something that is not written in your CV.

2. Tell me about your weakness. (on this she asked me several questions)

3. Again, how do you like to work as a group leader or group member, why?

4. Do you have any problem in relocation?

5. Do you know TCS terms and condition, what are they?

6. How  will you convince your parents to allow you to work in south India?

7. Show your 12th class mark sheet? (she verifies it)

8. Do you have any question to ask? ( I replied no)

So, I am done, you can leave for the day. She told and smile, I thank her and smile.

After three to four days I got a mail of result. I was selected for TCS. I gave this good news to my parents and friends. Feeling very happy to select in India's IT giant company.

So, Be confident, never lie to your HRs, prepare well, know your CV and never put your hopes down.
